Develop an integrated “Biorefinery” concept to be located adjacent to feedlots and abattoirs.

Rendering - Taking offal and downers from the abbatoir to produce fats, protein meal, bone meal & blood meal.

Biodiesel - Convert animal fats to biodiesel for sale as an over-the-road fuel.

Biogas - Produce biogas from the rendering waste, biodiesel glycerin and manure to provide heat for the rendering, biodiesel, abbatoir and feedlot operations, with excess going to power generation.

Ethanol - Produce fuel grade ethanol with DGS going to the feedlot, waste to AD and potentially DCO to biodiesel production.

Project

Engineering design of modular anaerobic digestion biogas production systems using the Scandinavian Biogas compact reactor technology. Ageratec provided design/fabrication for the modules and Alfa-Laval provided marketing assistance world-wide.

Wastewater AD Upgrade

Process Development and capital costing for the upgrade of existing Anaerobic Digesters at the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant in Los Angeles. Biogas from the facility will be cleaned to pipeline quality for SoCal Gas use.

Process design study for an AD biogas facility to be located in the Imperial Valley of California. Biogas from the facility will be cleaned to pipeline quality for Sempra Energy use.

Biogas Power Plant

Process development for a 5,000 hectare King Grass plantation on New Ireland, PNG supplying an AD biogas plant. Gas from the plant was combusted to generate power in two 2.5 MW steam boilers/turbine generators.
